Keeping up with innovation

The Govoni Handling Systems laboratory has undertaken research in collaboration with the Engineering Faculty of the University in Bologna, resulting in the creation of a particularly simple and versatile chip transport technology, which has been protected by international patent.

The company has thus arrived at a new, particularly competitive and flexible product, that has rapidly spread in different industrial sectors where traditional machine tools operate, but above all, those automatic and more innovative ones that work at high speed and with various tools for multiple processes. The screw transport is a universal transport system that can move chips horizontally, vertically and overhead worldwide patented.

How the mechanical screw system works

This mechanical transport is possible by a simple rscrew rotation and does not require additional moving parts that are present in traditional transport systems instead. This avoids the need of components to maintain and of spare parts to replace, except for the motorization. This determines conditions of flexibility and simplicity both operational and structural: screw technology in fact allows the creation of collectors that can develop in prepared pits, but also vertically and overhead, avoiding any floor breaks and reducing the occupied spaces.

Thanks to a simple and constant screw rotation and a particular collectors shape, chip undergoes considerable crushing and compacting effects during its mere transport, depending on its shape and metal features.

Therefore, the quantity of chip in the centralized containers can be increased and transport collectors can have an extremely small cross-section. Sometimes the screw even allows to avoid any shredder and therefore, all the maintenance and spare parts that this device requires.

The main innovative concept of this Govoni screw system is based on the transport of metal chips by the rotary action of a screw that operates along its entire length along a manifold with a proper configured geometry. The operating characteristics of the system can apply on any chip shape:
