TRADITION AND INNOVATION
The company was founded in 1960, thanks to design skills of its founder Alfredo Govoni and it experienced an initial step oriented towards creation of various types of mechanical equipment, such as handling and transporting systems for bulk and packaged materials, industrial washing machines and machinery to automate the collection of agricultural products.
The business is started by Alfredo Govoni and the core business is focused on agricultural automation and dry cleaning machinery
The sector extends to the transport of bulk and packaged materials, as well as heavy industrial products (electrical appliances, cement blocks, etc.).
The company decides to focus its activity on metal chips transport using traditional augers, chain conveyors and steel belt conveyors
Company launches research into improving metal chip transport in cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Bologna
Research wins national and international patent on screw technology
Installation of the 1st screw evacuator on a Mandelli machine tool
Installation of the 1st centralised chip conveyor with screw technology at Sacmi Imola S.C.
The company takes on a name with an international air and adopts a more sophisticated logo with alongside the 'TG' symbol or Trasportatori Govoni that evokes tradition and the font recalling the conveyor belts of the first historical
The company becomes Italy's leading supplier of fully automated centralised mechanical chip transport systems
Start of international expansion with installation of centralised plants in Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East, USA, Central and South America
Modernisation of internal design by introducing 3D software
Prototyping and launching suction technology
Installation of the first centralised chip transport system using vacuum air
Prototyping and launching the new line of shredders
60-year anniversary
400 centralised swarf conveying and treatment plants installed in Italy and worldwide reached
Refinement and industrialisation of the range of chip drying and coolant recovery systems

Refinement and industrialisation of the range of chip drying and coolant recovery systems
In the 80s, the company conducted research in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering of the University in Bologna
which then led to the creation of a
screw chip transport system that,
thanks to its universality and versatility,
has been covered by an international patent
This type of conveyor is capable of handling
chips of any shape and of any metallic material
both in pit and overhead
Respect for the environment and for own values
The innovative chip transport systems have allowed the company to meet some new needs expressed by the market in terms of: compliance with safety and environmental laws, cost and workspace savings, better ergonomics and ecology in workshops, facilitation of waste material recycling, reduction of special waste such as cutting oil or coolant fluids.

Govoni Handling pays special attention to the quality of materials and workmanship inside and outside the company
"Getting outside of the box can not only be fun, it is sometimes necessary for our survival. That is what survival training is all about. It disrupts our inner programming, the mentality of going through life on 'auto-pilot' so that we can readily see bright new possibilities heading our way."
